Referral terms: code SPLASH is for first-time Polymarket US users who sign up with it, finish onboarding, agree to the Polymarket US Rulebook, deposit at least $10 and make at least $1 of trades within 90 days of using the code. The welcome offer's own deposit window is shorter: 7 days.

Why a sign-up code can't be added later

Polymarket US's incentive terms say a participant qualifies for the campaign tied to the code or link used at onboarding, or, if none is used, the campaign in effect when onboarding finishes. Only the first deposit after onboarding counts, and each participant may receive one incentive credit under the Deposit Incentive Program.

Its Refer-A-Friend FAQ says the same about referral codes: they must be applied during sign-up.

Refer-A-Friend: the code an existing user has

Your referral code is your Polymarket US username. It's on the Invite Friends screen in the app, along with your invite link.
Share the invite link by text, X or your share sheet, or tell your friend your username to enter at sign-up.
Your friend must be a new Polymarket US user, sign up with your code and deposit at least $10.
You each receive a $25 bonus credit once every step is done.
Each user can earn up to 50 referral bonuses, and each new user can only be referred once.
Self-referrals, referring accounts you control and multiple accounts are prohibited.

Campaigns for existing participants

Polymarket US runs a Deposit and Trading Incentive Program for eligible participants and posts each campaign's terms on its User Incentive Programs page for the duration of the campaign. A participant qualifies only for the campaign presented to them, so check the app and that page rather than a code from a website.
