Polymarket Referral Code vs Promo Code
On Polymarket US, a referral code is another user's username: when a new user signs up with it and deposits at least $10, both people get a $25 credit. A promo code links a new user to a Deposit Incentive Program campaign. Either way, the code has to be entered during sign-up, and only once per person.

- Referral terms: code SPLASH is for first-time Polymarket US users who sign up with it, finish onboarding, agree to the Polymarket US Rulebook, deposit at least $10 and make at least $1 of trades within 90 days of using the code. The welcome offer's own deposit window is shorter: 7 days.
Two programs, one sign-up box
Polymarket US runs several incentive programs, and two of them reach new users. The Refer-A-Friend Incentive Program pays the person who invited you and pays you. The Deposit Incentive Program pays a new user for a qualifying first deposit, under the campaign tied to the code or link used at onboarding.
From the new user's side both start the same way, with a code entered while creating the account. That's why searches for invite code, referral code and promo code land on the same questions.
How a referral code works
Polymarket US's referral FAQ says your referral code is your Polymarket US username. You find it, along with an invite link, on the Invite Friends screen in the app, and you can share the link by text, on X, through your phone's share sheet, or by telling a friend the username.
For the referral to count, the friend must sign up as a new Polymarket US user with the code and deposit at least $10. Then each of you receives a $25 credit. Polymarket US's program terms say referral credits arrive within seven days of all requirements being met, and may be reviewed before payout.
Each user can earn up to 50 referral bonuses. Each new user can be referred only once, and only one bonus is paid per verified identity.
How the deposit campaign works
Polymarket US's Deposit Incentive Program terms say a participant qualifies for the campaign tied to the code or link used at onboarding, or, if none is used, the campaign in effect when onboarding finishes. Only the first deposit after onboarding counts, and each person can receive one credit under the program.

Polymarket US says the credit is applied within 24 hours after it confirms the deposit qualifies.
The rules both share
- Enter the code at sign-up. Polymarket US says referral codes must be applied during sign-up. An invite link usually fills the code in; if it doesn't, for example when someone declines app tracking, the code can be typed in during onboarding.
- Credits are for trading. They can be used to open positions and pay fees but can't be withdrawn as cash. Our withdrawals guide explains what can come out.
- No gaming the program. Self-referrals, referring accounts you control and multiple accounts are prohibited, and Polymarket US may withhold or claw back credits and suspend accounts involved.
- Terms can change. Polymarket US says it may modify, pause or end any program on a prospective basis and post the changes on its website.
After you share or enter a code
For the person sharing, the steps are short. Open Invite Friends in the app, copy the link or your username, and send it. Polymarket US lists text messages, X and your phone's share sheet as ways to send it. Nothing else is needed from you until your friend signs up and makes a deposit of at least $10.
For the new user, the code has to be in place before onboarding ends. Polymarket US says an invite link normally applies the code by itself, and that you can type it in by hand during onboarding if it doesn't. After that, the identity check and the first deposit decide whether any credit is paid.
Credits are not instant in every case. Polymarket US says deposit campaign credits arrive within 24 hours after the deposit is confirmed, while referral credits arrive within seven days and may be reviewed first. If you already have a Polymarket US account, a new-user code won't apply to it. Polymarket US's incentive page separately lists campaigns for existing users based on their past deposit and trading activity, and it says each participant qualifies only for the campaign presented to them.
